Spilanthes Acmella (Acmella oleracea), commonly known as the "Electric Daisy" or "Toothache Plant," is a flowering herb from the Asteraceae family native to tropical and subtropical regions of South America and Southeast Asia. For centuries, it has been used in traditional medicine for its remarkable analgesic, anti-inflammatory, and antimicrobial properties.
The plant's primary bioactive compound is Spilanthol, an N-alkylamide that acts as a fast-acting natural muscle relaxant. When applied topically, Spilanthol rapidly and progressively inhibits the repeated contractions of facial expression muscles — achieving a genuine botox-like effect on expression lines and wrinkles, without needles or invasive procedures. This has earned it the nickname "Nature's Botox" in the skincare industry.
Our Spilanthes powder is carefully sourced and processed to preserve the full spectrum of bioactive compounds, making it an ideal ingredient for formulators creating natural anti-aging serums, creams, eye treatments, and facial masks.
Spilanthol relaxes facial muscles at the cellular level, reducing the contractions that cause expression lines. Acts as a rapid topical muscle relaxant without the invasiveness of injections.
Visibly reduces fine lines and expression wrinkles, particularly around the eyes, forehead, and mouth. Clinical studies confirm significant improvement in wrinkle depth with continued use.
Stimulates collagen production, reorganizes and strengthens the collagen network, improving skin firmness, elasticity, and overall structural integrity over time.
Rich in antioxidants that combat free radicals and reduce oxidative stress. Anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties promote overall skin health and reduce irritation.

Dissolve the desired amount of Spilanthes powder in distilled water or ethanol. For a typical formulation, use 0.5% to 3.0% by weight of total formulation. Stir until fully dissolved at room temperature.
Ensure your final formulation has a pH between 4.5 and 7.0 for optimal stability and efficacy. Spilanthol is most effective within this range.
Incorporate the Spilanthes solution into serums, creams, eye treatments, lip treatments, or facial masks. Add during the cool-down phase of emulsions. Pairs well with hyaluronic acid, niacinamide, and other anti-aging actives.
Store your finished product in a cool, dark place. Use amber or opaque containers to protect from light degradation. Refrigeration can extend the shelf life of finished formulations.
